If you read the case of what got Al Capone a 11 year sentence, it is very similar to what Thomas is doing. Capone lived a luxury lifestyle but yet declared very little in income. He tried to argue he lost a lot at gambling, and this should be a business expense, and therefore deductible. The court rejected this argument.
The entire Supreme court, not just Thomas, must undergo an income tax audit for the past 7 years. Those who have committed tax evasion must be charged and removed from the court. While this is an extraordinary measure, it is warranted because of the level of corruption that has come to light. The members of the court who have obeyed the law will support this. They understand the court has a cancer and it must be addressed.
If a Republican is elected for President in the future, the convicted criminals will be pardoned, but at least they will have to face trial and be held accountable.

The upfront cost of owning and flying private is expensive but the folks who can afford it literally wrote the tax code that allows them to deduct the cost AND depreciation on their taxes. As long as they can claim it’s used for business purposes a certain percentage of the time.

So buying a supreme court justice is now a legitimate business expense. That write off for Crowe should be a tax fraud case. Same for Thomas. I want MSNBC to tell us exactly what Chief Justice Roberts can legally do to control the abuses of Alito and Thomas, because I don't honestly know. I want MSNBC to explain exactly why they keep emphasizing lapses of ethics when it appears that Alito and, especially and most brazenly, Thomas have actually committed crimes by not reporting gifts and income (at least one forgiven loan) as required by law. I want MSNBC to talk about the role of DoJ in these breaches because it seems to me that they are, again, sitting on the sidelines and delaying justice for the powerful. Again. And MSNBC is ignoring that.
